Creating intimate portraits, especially with boudoir often relies on a combination of the photographer’s skill in lighting, composition, and most importantly a true connection with the subject. In this lecture I will walk the attendees through my process of creating an intimate portrait from how to build trust with your subject to setting the mood with lighting and posing. Shooting intimate boudoir portraiture is a balancing act in which the technical (control) is just as important as the trust and rapport you have with your subject (vulnerability). By balancing control and vulnerability you create can create a portrait in which your subject is not only exposing their body, but also part of their soul.
